Returns and cancellations
We want you to love your artwork. Because each painting involves real artist time, ready-made works and custom paintings are handled differently.
Two product types, two policies
Most works on Budapest Canvas are made-to-order paintings. A small number of finished pieces are sold as ready-made artworks. Refund and cancellation rules differ between the two.
Ready-made artwork
- 14-day return window from delivery
- Must be returned in original condition and packaging
- Refund issued after we receive and inspect the work
Custom / made-to-order painting
- Before the artist begins: fully refundable
- After work begins: non-refundable, since artist time and materials are committed (partial refunds case-by-case)
- Final photo review: we adjust where reasonable before shipping
Damaged in transit
If your canvas arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with photos of the packaging and the artwork. We will repair, replace, or refund — separate from the rules above.
Not eligible
- Orders cancelled after the artist has begun work
- Ready-made works returned after 14 days or without original packaging
- Damage caused after delivery

Email us at [email protected] or use our contact form within 14 days of receiving your artwork.

Get Return Label
We'll send you a prepaid return shipping label and packaging instructions.

Ship It Back
Carefully repackage the artwork using the original materials and ship it back.

Receive Refund
Once we receive and inspect the artwork, we'll process your refund within 5 business days.
Why paintings work this way
Each order is a paid studio brief for a Hungarian painter — once they begin, materials are prepared and time is committed. That's why we send a final photo for your approval before shipping, and why we'd rather adjust early than refund late. If anything concerns you during the process, tell us straight away.
