A circle of Hungarian painters, supported by serious patronage.

01How the circle works
Not a marketplace. A community.
Four quiet commitments that hold the circle together — the things every painter and collector here can count on.
Paid studio briefs
Every order includes an artist fee. No spec work, no contests — just paid time in the studio.
Credit and documentation
Public profiles, process photographs, and a name on every certificate. The work follows the artist.
Open studios and gatherings
Studio visits, artist features, and collector evenings — small, regular, and grounded in Budapest.
A circle, not a marketplace
Painters, collectors, and the studio team know each other. Decisions are made in person.

A Budapest studio, mid-week
02Budapest roots
Talent needs more than talent.
Strong painters leave Hungary's art schools every year — and run out of practical support after graduation. The gallery route is narrow. What they lack isn't ability; it's paid work, an audience, documentation, and a circle of peers around them.
Budapest Canvas exists to widen the route. You choose a curated concept; a painter from our circle creates the work by hand. When you order a painting, you become a small but real reason a painter spends the week in the studio.
03Behind the circle
Close to the artists. Close to the work.
A small Budapest team works alongside the painters: reviewing applications, documenting the studio, presenting portfolios, and checking every canvas before it ships.
We know the painters
Studio visits, gatherings, and conversations — not just inboxes. Decisions about briefs and matches happen in person.
Every canvas reviewed
Each finished painting is checked, photographed, and approved before we send the final preview to the buyer.
Documentation as practice
Process photographs, certificates, and artist credits are part of the work — not afterthoughts to be tacked on later.
Grounded in Budapest
The studio team lives in the city the painters work in. Open studios at 3 Baross St., Kálvin Sq. are a short walk, not a quarterly event.
